It's another week of football and we have been graced with another week of headlines around the one and only New York Jets.
Aaron Rodgers & Co. finally picked up their fourth win of the season all the way out in Week 15 when they beat the Trevor Lawrence-less Jacksonville Jaguars 32-25 to pick up some pride, if not valuable points. They are firmly out of the running for the playoffs but there has been no shortage of headlines around the state of the franchise.
Rodgers signed a three-year, $112.5 million deal with the franchise with $75 million guaranteed and has been cryptic about playing for the Jets next year. The math gets a little complicated if he returns for another year but it appears he is open to taking a pay cut.
"Yeah, I'm open to everything," Rodgers answered when asked by reporters for his thoughts on a potential paycut.

Rodgers also noted that if the Jets were to draft a quarterback with their top-10 pick in April, he would mentor the rookie the same way he did with Jordan Love, but that he would play well enough to keep the rookie on the bench for the year.
How Aaron Rodgers' contract could affect Jets' planning for 2025
Having Rodgers back for another year would be an expensive ordeal. While the Jets are owned by the 388th-richest person in the country, they still have to play by NFL rules when it comes to the salary cap.
Per ESPN, if Rodgers sticks around in 2025, the Jets' cap charge would amount to $23.5 million. He will also be owed a $35 million option bonus by the first regular-season game in addition to a $2.5 million base salary. However, the dead cap charge amounts to a whopping $63 million in 2026 if he's back for just one more year.
His option bonus gets pro-rated to ease salary cap considerations. That bonus would then bleed into the rest of his void years, leaving the Jets with a hefty bill when he rides off into the New Jersey sunset.
There is also the small matter of finalizing who will be the general manager and the head coach in 2025 and if the head coach would be willing to include Rodgers in the grand scheme of things.
