Aaron Rodgers is a very polarizing figure, and the New York Jets quarterback has had a very complicated realtionship with his family. Rodgers' mother Darla blamed his ex-girlfriend Olivia Munn as the "chief culprit" for their rift and for the four-time MVP breaking family ties.

In an early excerpt of his upcoming biography, 'Out of Darkness: The Mystery of Aaron Rodgers,' obtained by The Daily Mail, NY Times best-selling author Ian O’Connor reported that Rodgers' parents didn't approve of his relationship with Munn. The couple started dating in 2014 before calling it off in 2017.

A devout Christian, Darla, was 'mortified' about Munn having "premarital sex" with Rodgers. Darla was shocked to find out Munn talking about her sex life with the then-Green Bay Packers quarterback in her interviews.

"Given her devout religious views, Aaron’s mother disapproved of premarital sex and was opposed to her middle child sharing a hotel room with his girlfriend even as an NFL player," O’Connor wrote.

"Darla did not appreciate how Munn joked about oral sex in an interview or how she publicly talked about her sex life with Aaron just before that loss at Buffalo."

The interview being referred to was in December 2014, when 'Watch What Happens Live' host Andy Cohen asked Munn if she had sex with Rodgers on game days. She replied in the negative, explaining that there were other things to focus on.

Rodgers' parents, Ed and Darla, disagreed to Munn claiming she tried encouraging the then-Packers QB to patch things up with his parents, in another interview with Cohen.

"It's a lie," Ed said.

O'Connor also mentioned in the book that Munn had gotten into an "angry rant" with Rodgers' parents when they were planning to visit the then-Packers QB after a Buccaneers game in Tampa.

O'Connor wrote that Munn made it clear that "she did not want (Rodgers' parents) meeting them or attending the game."

"Ed and Darla explained that they had been attending Aaron's games since he was a kid and did not need her permission to continue to do so."

Aaron Rodgers disagrees with his mother blaming Olivia Munn for deep tension with family

Aaron Rodgers has a different perspective on his family tension. The four-time MVP doesn't accept his mother's claim of Munn being the "chief culprit" for division in the family. Rodgers told O'Connor that Munn had "nothing to do" with the complicated relationship with his parents.

"I have questions about why they feel the need to talk about it, because it's like a game of poker. When you are holding all the cards, you don't have to bluff. There's nothing they can say other than make up stories but look at the facts."

Ian O'Connor's book, Out of Darkness: The Mystery of Aaron Rodgers, is set to be released on August 20, 2024. The book is now available for pre-order.
