Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has opened up about the status of his friendship with Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams.
When Rodgers and Adams played together for the Green Bay Packers, till the last season, they dominated the NFL. No wide receiver in the NFL has recorded more receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns than Adams over the last five years. The tandem also appeared to be getting better every year.
Adams set new career highs in receptions and receiving yards during the 2021 NFL season. This was also the second consecutive season that Rodgers was named the NFL MVP. Their offensive chemistry was basically unstoppable, while helping the Packers achieve three consecutive 13-win seasons.
Their consistent dominance is what made Adams' departure during the 2022 NFL offseason so shocking. He was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders following a long contract dispute with the Packers. This forced the dynamic duo to officially break up for the 2022 NFL season.

Aaron Rodgers recently appeared on an episode of How Hungry Are You? with host Serge Ibaka. His ongoing relationship with Adams has become one of the topics of conversation. Here's what Rodgers had to say about their current situation:
"I've stayed really close and we still talk all the time. People think, 'Oh, you must not like Davante'. You know, he's on another team, and I love him even more. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, and I have even deeper love and appreciation for him, I think, now that he's gone."
Judging by his comments, it seems that Aaron Rodgers is missing his superstar wide receiver on the Packers. His regression during the 2022 NFL season would further confirm that's the case for AR12.
Aaron Rodgers has struggled during 2022 NFL season without Davante Adams on the Packers
Davante Adams continued his usual dominance during the 2022 NFL season, despite playing with Derek Carr and the Las Vegas Raiders. He currently leads the NFL with 12 touchdown receptions entering Week 16 and is on pace to eclipse 1,500 receiving yards.
Aaron Rodgers' 2022 season has been a much different story. His 10 interceptions are his most in a season since 2010 and he still has three more games to go this year.
The Packers QB is also averaging just 220 passing yards per game, the fewest in any season of his career since being named the starting quarterback for the Packers in 2008.
Rodgers has no chance of winning another NFL MVP award this year. He is seeking to join Brett Favre as the only player ever to win three in a row, as well as tying Peyton Manning with a total of five MVPs, the most in NFL history. Neither of those are going to happen this year. Three games is not enough time for him to get back in contention for the award.
The Packers are also in serious danger of missing out on the NFL Playoffs for the first time since 2018. They have just a 6-8 record entering Week 16 and would be left out of the playoffs if the regular season ended today.
Green Bay haven't been the same dominant team without Davante Adams, while Rodgers has also regressed as a quarterback this year.
