Aaron Rodgers and benching rumors have become a thing lately. It makes some sense considering that the New York Jets are 3-9 and have underperformed this season.

The Jets fell 26-21 to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, their ninth loss in 12 games this season. Rodgers completed 53.9% of his passes for less than 200 yards, throwing two touchdowns and one interception.

Earlier this season, Jets owner Woody Johnson suggested benching Rodgers, but the team decided to stick with Rodgers.

With rumors of him being benched becoming more prevalent, Rodgers addressed the rumors after their latest loss, saying he'd have a conversation with Jeff Ulbrich if that got brought up.

"Yeah, I don't know. We'll figure that out when we have those conversations," Rodgers said. "I'll have a conversation with [Ulbrich] if that's what he's thinking."

The Jets are a half-game out of last place in the AFC East with a 3-9 record. The Jets will try to rebound from their narrow loss to the Seahawks this week against the Miami Dolphins in Miami.

New York Jets will continue to start Aaron Rodgers

Less than 24 hours after rumors surfaced that the Jets could bench Rodgers, interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich put a stop on Monday morning. Ulbrich told reporters that Rodgers will continue to start for the team

NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport tweeted:

"#Jets interim coach Jeff Ulbrich told reporters today that QB Aaron Rodgers will continue to start for the team, giving them the best chance to win. "He’s our quarterback."

For Aaron Rodgers, this is hardly his strongest season. In 12 games, he has completed 62.5 percent of his throws, totaling 2,627 yards, 19 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. He has one of the lowest QBRs, which is now 48.5.

There have been rumors and discussions that Rodgers could leave the Jets next season, whether they trade him, release him, or retire. The Jets' offseason position does not appear to be favorable, and they are on track for a rebuild, whether with or without Rodgers.
