New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has gone through several changes in the 2024 NFL season and we're only entering Week 8 of competition. After the team released Robert Saleh, they traded for Davante Adams, but in the middle of that, they made some changes to try to reignite the spark within the squad.

Todd Downing was named the offensive play-caller for the team's offense after interim coach Jeff Ulbrich demoted Nathaniel Hackett from that role. During Tuesday's edition of 'The Pat McAfee Show', Rodgers talked about his experience with Downing, a couple of weeks after the Jets implemented this change.

"Todd is a great guy. He's in a tough spot; he's replacing our best friend, but I thought he's handled it with a lot of class and a really good approach. He's actually very supportive through the whole process.

"Todd's done a really good job for the run, delivered the message in some plays and I have a lot of trust and respect for Todd Downing. He's a great man and a damn good coach," Rodgers said.

Ever since they dominated the New England Patriots in Week 3, the Jets have dropped four consecutive games. In the process, they have failed to trespass the 20-point threshold, only reaching that exact number of points against the Buffalo Bills in Week 6.

They only scored nine points against the Broncos, 17 against the Vikings, 20 to the Bills and 15 against the Steelers on Sunday. Aaron Rodgers and Co. will face the Patriots on Sunday, hoping to get a good result to get back to winning ways.

Julian Edelman blames Tom Brady for high expectations from Aaron Rodgers

Former WR Julian Edelman explained that Tom Brady is responsible for the expectations people created around Aaron Rodgers and the Jets. During Monday's edition of FS1's 'The Herd,' Edelman said:

"And you got to blame Tom Brady for this, because, I mean, he goes over to Tampa Bay and wins the Super Bowl. Now everyone thinks they could do and then the Rams go up two years later and do the same kind of thing. So, this is kind of a new wrinkle in the league where teams are trying to buy the Super Bowl."

The New York Jets look like anything but a Super Bowl-caliber team. They have lost games that would have put them among the candidates to challenge for the championship, but their goal appears to have changed.
