NFL analyst Colin Cowherd disagreed with Ben Roethlisberger about a potential Aaron Rodgers arrival to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Following the New York Jets' disappointing season, Rodgers' future is up in the air. On the other hand, Russell Wilson failed to make an impact on the Steelers and may not return as their quarterback next season.
During Thursday's edition of his "The Herd" show, Cowherd made a case for Rodgers to be the next Steelers' starting QB, although he can only be a short-term solution for Mike Tomlin's team.
"There's discussions right now, the Steelers have acknowledged they don't know if they have the right quarterback in their organization right now," Cowherd said. "So there's a rumor now, and Aaron Rodgers may not be the solution long term, I would argue, as a real argument outside of Sam Darnold, he'd be the best fit in Pittsburgh. Big Ben doesn't think it would work. I would take Baker Mayfield today, over and Sam Darnold over Aaron.
"But Aaron had a good, mostly good, last seven, eight weeks. And I do think for Pittsburgh, it would be a decent fit. He's grown up. He could learn the playbook quickly. The truth is, I don't know if Aaron's the answer, but he may be the solution for a year."

The Jets regressed from last season (7-10) as they only won five games against 12 losses in 2024. Rodgers was blamed for the team's shortcomings since the franchise tried to put him in the best possible position to take them to the postseason. Moreover, they fired Robert Saleh and Joe Douglas, which seemingly rubbed the QB off.
Aaron Rodgers urged to move to NFC North franchise
Two years after leaving the Green Bay Packers, Aaron Rodgers could be back in the NFC North, but for the Minnesota Vikings. NFL fans tried to push this idea on social media this week, as they wanted Rodgers to follow Brett Favre's path and have the same career as his fellow Packers legend.
Favre was the Packers' starting QB when Rodgers landed in Green Bay. He was traded to the New York Jets and ultimately joined the Minnesota Vikings. Kevin O'Connell's team had Sam Darnold this season, but with J.J. McCarthy returning from an injury next season, it remains to be seen if they would entertain the Rodgers idea.
