Anonymous NFL GM delivers bold prediction on Deion Sanders to Cowboys saga: Report - Source: Imagn

An anonymous NFL general manager believes Deion Sanders will be the next head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys parted ways with Mike McCarthy as their head coach on Monday.

After Jerry Jones and McCarthy decided to take different directions, many wondered who the Cowboys would hire. On Monday night, a report came out that Jones spoke to Deion Sanders about potentially being the head coach.

NFL insider Adam Schefter revealed on Unsportsmanlike Radio that he spoke to an anonymous NFL GM who was certain Sanders would take the Cowboys job.

“I think back to a conversation that I had about 16-18 months ago where I was talking to an NFL general manager. He said I got a prediction for you, mark it down right now: the next head coach of the Dallas Cowboys is going to be Deion Sanders," Schefter said.

Deion Sanders says hearing from Jerry Jones is 'intriguing'

Jerry Jones spoke to Deion Sanders about being the team's head coach. It was an intriguing conversation as the Buffaloes recall.

"To hear from Jerry Jones is truly delightful, and it's intriguing," Sanders told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Monday night. "I love Jerry and believe in Jerry. After you hang up and process it, and think about it, it's intriguing. But I love Boulder and everything there is about our team, the coaches, our student body and the community."

Sanders had been linked to the NFL throughout the college football season, but he said in November he was happy with where he was at. He also says he enjoys changing kid's lives and coaching college.

Sanders received a five-year contract for $29.5 million when he was hired in Colorado in late 2022.
