Antonio Brown has not taken a snap in the NFL since walking off the field last season. The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers wideout stays in the news, though, thanks to his off-the-field behavior and other issues.

He routinely speaks up in support of embattled public figures and never ceases to slander his former teammate Tom Brady over his divorce. He's now put his support for Kyrie Irving on the internet.

Irving is the latest public figure to get in trouble for anti-Semitism following rapper and businessman Kanye West. Brown also supported West during recent controversies as well.

The Brooklyn Nets have suspended Irving for at least five games without pay and Brown decided to show his support for the basketball star. He changed his Twitter profile picture to the Nets' guard and announced it with a tweet.

Antonio Brown also voiced his support with a tweet prior to changing his profile picture in which he pleaded with the powers that be to let Irving play. Brown said:

"Let Kyrie Irvin Play. True Greatness to Witness. Superhero. Support Him He got Nothing to Gain Let him do what he love it's already Hard enough! Please don't cancel him he said his peace just wanna see him be Great. Back KI Uncle Drew."

This is not the first nor the last time Brown has thrown his hat into the ring of someone facing public backlash.

Why does Antonio Brown continue to support controversial figures?

Aside from the idea that Antonio Brown might suffer from CTE, there's no telling why exactly he continues to show his support for these figures.

One guess is that it's an easy way for him to be remembered. He's no longer in the NFL and his music career hasn't quite taken off like he might have expected, so he needs to find ways to be relevant.

Irving is all the news now, as was West. Brown mentioning them is an easy way of getting his name back out there. Unfortunately, that means supporting those guilty of anti-Semitism and other bad things.

We will see what the controversial receiver decides to do next.
