The race for the final two spots in the AFC playoffs is still alive, as the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers are trying to fend off the Miami Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts, and Cincinnati Bengals. Both teams need to win one of their final two games to book their playoff berth.

With the Chargers scheduled to face the 3-12 New England Patriots and the 3-12 Las Vegas Raiders, they are expected to seal their playoff berth. The Broncos have a more arduous task, as they are scheduled to face the Bengals and the Kansas City Chiefs. Since Denver has total control over its destiny, they are heavy favorites to secure their playoff berth. However, Jeff Saturday is hoping they lose both their games, and Cincinnati advances to the playoffs.

On ESPN's First Take, the Indianapolis Colts icon claimed he preferred seeing Joe Burrow in the playoffs trying to win a road game rather than rookie Bo Nix.

"Ain't nobody trying to watch Bo Nix, a rookie quarterback, play over Joe Burrow. Everybody's tuning in [for] Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins. ... If they get in the playoffs, it's a much better story... Ain't nobody wanna watch a rookie quarterback up in the playoffs, man. C'mon!" - Jeff Saturday on First Take

Bengals playoff odds: Cincinnati needs a lot of help

For the Bengals to qualify for the playoffs, they need several results to go in their favor. They have to beat the Broncos and the Pittsburgh Steelers in their final two games and finish with a 9-8 record. A defeat in either game would rule them out of contention for a playoff spot.

They need the Colts and Dolphins to lose one of their final two games to leapfrog them in the standings. If they go 2-0, the Bengals won't make the playoffs even if they win out. Both have a better record against AFC opponents than Cincinnati. They will be the higher seed if they finish with the same record as the Bengals.

Indianapolis is scheduled to face the 2-13 New York Giants and the 3-12 Jacksonville Jaguars, while the Dolphins will take on the 3-12 Browns and the 4-11 New York Jets. It's hard to envision either team losing against these lowly opponents, but they wouldn't have been the eighth and ninth seed heading into Week 17 if they weren't susceptible to an upset loss.

If the Colts and Dolphins lose one game each, that still wouldn't be enough for the Bengals. They also need the Broncos to go 0-2. Cincinnati can hand Denver one of those two defeats on Sunday; however, the second won't be easy.

If given the choice to handpick the Broncos' opponents in Week 18, the Bengals would have picked the Chiefs on most days. However, Kansas City has already locked the top seed and will rest all of their key starters in their regular-season finale. With the Chiefs expected to empty the bench, Denver is already the heavy favorite to win that game.

The Bengals don't need a miracle to earn a playoff berth. They need a series of divine interventions, which is possible but not likely.
