Tre'Davious White was an All-Pro in 2019 and a two-time Pro Bowler, but he wasn't always a star cornerback. White was a guest on the "Punch Line Podcast with Marlon Humphrey" on Wednesday and spoke about his experience as a freshman at LSU.
White told his Baltimore Ravens teammate that he was a quarterback at Green Oaks High School in Shreveport, Louisiana. He felt that the coaching staff at LSU never gave him a chance to prove himself at the position and get the jersey number he wanted.
"Well, they didn't even give me a chance, bro," White said (29:50). "When I got there, first of all, I thought I was getting No. 10, I see somebody when I'm attending. It's the quarterback, Anthony Jennings. I was like, 'Yeah, they not gonna give me that because he came early and he a quarterback' and they not feeling so I got there, man, I'm No. 16.
"They say, 'Yeah, you going to the defensive meetings.' ... So I'm, like, all right, at defense, LSU, like, we're gonna have a D line, we gonna have a front seven. They gonna get out the quarterback. They gonna make this kind of easy. So I gotta just get this down and practice this and, you know, get a lot of reps under this, and I'm be pretty good."

Humphrey admitted that it was the first time he heard White's story.
"I didn't even know that," Humphreys said.
"Yeah because in high school I played quarterback." White said.
Humphrey was shocked to discover that his teammate, who was just traded to the Baltimore Ravens in November, got his start on the offensive side of the ball. It all worked out for White at LSU as he was selected with the 27th overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft by the Buffalo Bills.
Tre'Davious White gave insight into Bills' practice with Josh Allen
Tre'Davious White spent seven seasons with the Buffalo Bills before leaving after the 2023 season. As a member of the defense, he spent a lot of time going up against Josh Allen and the offense in practice.
While speaking with Marlon Humphrey on the "Punch Line Podcast" on Wednesday, White described the Bills' practice sessions and how it became an incentive to intercept Allen for the practice squad players. White added that Allen would hold a grudge against those who intercepted him in practice.
"You pick Josh Allen off in practice, he's not going to talk to you for like two weeks," White said. "Like he really mad about that. That was what we did.
"As far as like for the practice squad guys, that's not getting paid. We would put a pot every week, put money in the pot, whoever picks Josh Allen off, you get this pot. So those young boys at practice trying to get him each and every week. But, it made our team better."
White also praised the type of person Allen is off the field. He said that the Buffalo Bills QB would always invite his teammates over to his home and that he is a good person.
