The New Orleans Saints are one of five teams currently without a head coach, and running back Alvin Kamara has let it be known whom he wants to be the Saints' leader.

The Saints fired coach Dennis Allen after Week 9 of last season, and Darren Rizzi, the team's special teams and assistant coach, took over as interim head coach for the remainder of the season. Rizzi is the person the team's star running back wants as head coach for next season.

As the pieces are starting to fall into place with this off-season's head coaching carousel, Kamara took to X, revealing that his vote for the team's next head coach rhymes with Rizzi's name.

Kamara posted this on X:

"Aite my vote for head coach rhyme wit Fizzi…"

Kamara was direcetly referring to Rizzi. He took over as New Orleans' interim head coach after the team went 2-7 with Dennis Allen. They would finish the rest of the season 3-5 under Rizzi, going 5-12 for the 2023-24 season.

Rizzi has been with the Saints organization since 2019. He was hired as their special teams coordinator and was also given the additional assignment of being the team's assistant head coach in 2022.

The New Orleans Saints head coaching search has stalled due to weather

There are a few known coaching candidates that the New Orleans Saints are targeting. Aside from Darren Rizzi, guys like New York Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka, Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn and Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver are top targets for the Saints.

However, due to the inclement weather and snow in New Orleans today, the Saints had to postpone interviews with such candidates to a later day/time this week.

NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero posted this on X:

"Due to severe weather, the #Saints are rescheduling this week's round of in-person interviews for their head coaching job. Mike Kafka was supposed to be today, with Aaron Glenn and Anthony Weaver scheduled for Wednesday; interviews are now expected to resume later in the week."

This is the first time in 15 years that snow has fallen in the city of New Orleans, and unlike many places in the country, New Orleans doesn't know how to deal with the inclement weather.

This year's Super Bowl will take place in New Orleans, and with the weather the city had today, the NFL is crossing their fingers that there won't be a similar situation for the Super Bowl.
