Amon-Ra St. Brown captivated audiences on the Netflix series 'Receiver,' but he may have unintentionally put the Detroit Lions and coach, Dan Campbell, in a bit of bother.

The wide receiver revealed in the series that he had suffered a torn oblique muscle in Week 3, but he played the Thursday Night Football game the following week against the Green Bay Packers after taking painkillers. However, St. Brown was not listed on the Lions' injury report in the days leading up to the game, as per Sports Illustrated's Christian Booher.

It must be noted that the NFL has a strict system of reporting injuries. Because of concerns about player welfare and competitive fairness, footballers are not supposed to hide injuries. Any person who has suffered a trauma or is sick must be included in the injury report, even if the player recovers by the end of the game week and can feature. If that protocol is not followed, the NFL can take action against the team.

Because of the situation highlighted above with Amon-Ra St. Brown, Dan Campbell and the Lions could be in jeopardy.

In Week 7 of the 2023 season, the Atlanta Falcons did not reveal a sickness for running back Bijan Robinson and were fined $75,000. Their coach at the time, Arthur Smith, was fined $25,000. Therefore, such a situation could now be facing Detroit too.

Amon-Ra St. Brown's revelation contradicts Lions HC Dan Campbell's instruction on Netflix's 'Receiver'

When Amon-Ra St. Brown was chosen to become one of the players being featured in the Netflix series 'Receiver,' he revealed that he had spoken to his father and Dan Campbell before proceeding with the whole thing.

They were both supportive but the Lions coach had informed him that it should not be a distraction. The wide receiver had said,

"They said the Lions want me to talk to Coach Campbell before we do it, because the cameras are going to be around. I said, 'Okay, I'll talk to coach,' and before (that), I talked to my dad. He said, 'Oh yeah, do that s—t.' So I went to Coach Campbell, to his office, and he's like, 'Yeah, you can do it. I just don't want it to be a distraction."

While it was certainly not a distraction last season as the Lions made it to the NFC Championship, it could now become one just as Dan Campbell, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and other players return to training camp to begin their preparation for the upcoming season.
