The New York Jets fell to 6-4 on the season with their close 10-3 loss to the New England Patriots. Meanwhile, quarterback Zach Wilson fell to 5-2 as the starter on the season.
Despite the impressive record, Wilson has played much worse than his team record and was benched against New England for backup quarterback Mike White.

Wilson hasn't improved in his second season and after a poor game vs. the Patriots on Sunday, head coach Robert Saleh made the move.

Former NFL defensive lineman and current analyst Anthony "Booger" McFarland spoke on Monday Night Countdown prior to the Cardinals-49ers game in Mexico City. He said that Wilson needs to accept responsibility.
McFarland said:
“Let’s understand who this young man is before we ask him to accept accountability. He’s a young man who grew up with a lot of money. I don’t think he’s ever had to accept accountability. So now on the biggest stage, we want this quarterback to accept accountability.”
Co-host Steve Young, who also attended BYU like Wilson, defended him and disagreed with McFarland, saying that Wilson is a tough-minded kid.
Young said:
"That doesn’t resonate at all. He’s a tough-minded kid. He’s comfortable.”
McFarland responded by saying Wilson doesn't know how to accept responsibility on the biggest stage.
He replied:
“Steve, he hasn’t had to accept accountability. So now on the biggest stage, we want this kid to be an adult in front of grown men and accept accountability.”
Head coach Robert Saleh said that Zach Wilson's comments were 'irritating' following their loss to the New England Patriots

Zach Wilson has been subpar all season. Combine that with being unable to take accountability, and it will get you benched.
Following their 10-3 loss to the Patriots, Wilson was asked by the media if he let the defense down in the loss, to which he responded by saying:
"No."
Head coach Robert Saleh was asked if Wilson had lost the locker room, to which he responded by saying that there's been irritation.
The Jets possibly won't be irritated this Sunday as backup quarterback Mike White will be leading the offense. They will be looking to get back on the winning track vs. the Chicago Bears.
