Antonio Brown's NFL career
Antonio Brown was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL Draft out of Central Michigan. The wideout got his first 1,000+ yard season in the 2011 campaign, recording 1,108 yards receiving along with 69 receptions and two touchdowns.
From the 2013 to 2018 seasons, he had over 1,200 receiving yards in each campaign. In that stretch, the seven-time Pro Bowl led the league in receiving yards twice (2014 and 2017 seasons). The former Central Michigan player also led the NFL in receptions in back-to-back seasons (2014 and 2015 seasons).
In his nine campaigns with the Steelers, he had 11,207 receiving yards, 837 receptions, and 74 touchdowns. Pittsburgh traded Antonio Brown in March 2019 to the then-Oakland Raiders but never played a down in the regular season for them.
In 2019, Brown signed with the New England Patriots, playing just one game for the franchise before being released. The following year, he found a home with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, signing a one-year contract. That season, he got his first Super Bowl ring as Tampa Bay won Super Bowl 55 (2021) at their home stadium, Raymond James Stadium.
The Buccaneers re-signed him last year but his second campaign with the franchise was his last season. During the team's Week 17 games versus the New York Jets, Brown left the game early, taking off his uniform and shoulder pads in the process. He was cut by the team days after the incident.
The 34-year-old is currently out of the NFL and is a free agent, but wants to retire as a member of the Steelers. Given his actions, it seems unlikely that any NFL team will sign him at this point. We'll see what Antonio Brown does next moving forward, albeit on or off the field.
