Kellen Moore was recently announced as the new offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Chargers, and Austin Ekeler is excited to work under him. The Chargers running back recently appeared on Undisputed and gave his honest assessment of the franchise's situation.

Joe Lombardi was fired by the franchise after they blew away a 27-0 lead against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC Wildcard Round. Austin Ekeler stated that a change was necessary because of the chemistry.

Here's what Ekeler said about the decision to let go of Joe Lombardi:

"That's the chemistry. That's why we probably got rid of Joe and they were bringing in Kellen right they were trying to find that chemistry that helps right it's not that Joe was a bad coordinators, it’s just the match wasn't there."

He continued:

"So, we had to, too much up and down too much inconsistency, which in this league, right? It's gonna get you beat as we saw, and so really, we're trying to find what matches with us, right?"

Ekeler added:

"So, it's the shuffle. It's the shuffle every single year, but we got to find something that's consistent for us because we know who we have in our division."

Kellen Moore was fired by the Dallas Cowboys after their NFC Divisional Round loss to the San Francisco 49ers, which surprised many. Moore did a decent job with a Cowboys team that was short on firepower, yet he was let go.

One man's loss is another man's gain, and Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers will likely benefit from Moore's brilliance next season.

Austin Ekeler has been the most consistent player in the current Los Angeles Chargers squad, and he will most likely be the focus of their attack in the future. Although Justin Herbert has a strong arm and can distribute the ball to Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, Ekeler has made the biggest contributions to their squad.

With Kellen Moore likely to make some modifications to the Chargers' scheme, it may be assumed that Ekeler's ability to run the ball will be directly tied to the Chargers' success. This past season, Ekeler had 204 carries for 915 yards and scored 18 touchdowns in 17 games.
