Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans has been one of the most consistent wide receivers in the NFL. He is the only player to begin his career with 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first 10 seasons in the NFL.
This year marks his 11th season in the NFL, and he hopes to extend his amazing streak. Evans needs 85 yards to extend his record with one game remaining in the regular season, as he currently has 915 receiving yards.
Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield told reporter Sara Walsh about helping Evans reach 1,000 yards on the season.
"Baker gave a very thoughtful response on why it's so important to get Mike Evans his 11th straight 1k season. Said Evans raises people up in the community, so much of their success is Evans getting the ball early and often. Baker: "If we win, Mike's getting that record," Walsh tweeted.

The fact that Evans missed four games this season due to injury adds to the feat (if he completes it). Evans injured his hamstring in Week 7 against the Baltimore Ravens and had to leave the game. He missed the following four Buccaneers games due to the injury.
The Buccaneers host the New Orleans Saints this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. This is a game where both teams (at least the Buccaneers) will likely play their starters for the entire game.
Mike Evans' resume can make the case for him to be a future Hall of Famer
Whenever Mike Evans retires, it won't take long for him to be inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame.
Evans is on the verge of recording an 11th-straight 1,000-plus yard season. That alone can warrant a spot in Canton alone. He's been named to five Pro Bowls and is a Super Bowl champion.
Evans made more history earlier this season, as he became just the 11th player in NFL history to score at least 100 career touchdowns as he scored against the Baltimore Ravens.
Evans has over 800 receptions, over 12,000 receiving yards, and over 100 career touchdowns.
