Baker Mayfield's wife Emily rallies behind QB as Bucs clinch playoff spot

Baker Mayfield's wife is his biggest cheerleader.

On Sunday, as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers clinched their fourth straight NFC South title and secured the No. 3 seed in the playoffs, the Bucs QB's wife, Emily Mayfield, rooted for her man on Instagram. She reposted a celebratory post by the team's account featuring Baker.

In another repost from the Buccaneers' IG account, Emily's story featured Baker in a red jersey interacting with her and their newborn baby, Kova Jade Mayfield, after the 27-19 win over the New Orleans Saints.

Having signed a one-year contract in 2023, Baker Mayfield faced immense pressure stepping into the shoes of seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady. However, he silenced critics.

Last season, the Bucs entered the postseason, where Baker delivered a commanding wild-card victory over the Philadelphia Eagles before falling short in a divisional-round game with the Detroit Lions.

The 2024 season began with even higher expectations after Mayfield inked a three-year extension worth $100 million. However, once again, he proved the critics wrong and successfully led his team to another playoff berth.

Currently, the stakes are high for the Buccaneers.

After leapfrogging the Los Angeles Rams thanks to a superior conference record, the two-time Super Bowl champion franchise has the opportunity to host at least one home playoff game. The Bucs can host two if things align in their favor.

After the Week 18 win, the team is gearing up for a high-stakes wild-card game against the Washington Commanders.

Emily Mayfield has no qualms about husband Baker Mayfield being overlooked as a Pro Bowl starter

Despite a career-best season, Tampa Bay, Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield was left off the list of starting quarterbacks for the NFC Pro Bowl team. Instead, two of his teammates, offensive lineman Tristan Wirfs and defensive lineman Vita Vea earned starting nods.

The snub didn’t dampen Emily Mayfield's spirits though. Baker Mayfield's wife turned this into a celebration of the team’s success.

On Instagram, Emily reshared the Buccaneers’ announcement and praised Wirfs and Vea for their Pro Bowl honors, writing, “Well deserved.”
