New Los Angeles Rams quarterback Baker Mayfield is in the headlines, this time for the right reasons. After his heroics against the Las Vegas Raiders last week, Mayfield is set to make some history against the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football.

The former Cleveland and Carolina quarterback was in town for a mere 48 hours before he was thrust into the game against the Raiders early in the first half. After an up-and-down game, he led the Rams from 16-3 down to win 17-16 after two superb touchdown drives.

Now, as they approach the Packers on Monday, Baker is set to make history. He will become the first ever NFL player to start for three different teams in a calendar year, per CBSSports.

That is some effort from the former first overall pick. While the reasons he has gotten to where he is aren't exactly good, it looks like he is finally ready to turn the corner and start the remaining games for Sean McVay's team.

With Matthew Stafford's long-term future is in doubt over a spinal cord contusion, there is a real chance that Baker could be auditioning for a potential starting spot for McVay next season.

Mayfield's efforts against the Raiders were nothing short of remarkable. After barely being in the city for two days, he was thrust into the game and asked to do a job and passed with flying colours.

The quarterback finished his first game with the Rams, completing 22 of his 35 passes for 230 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown was the game-winner to Van Jefferson with a little over 10 seconds left in the fourth quarter.

It has been a superb start for the quarterback with the Rams. However, it is only one game. Coming into a game with zero expectations and essentially having a free reign to do what he wants without fear of retribution is far different this week.

Against the Packers, a little more will be expected of him as he has had time in the offense to learn the playbook.

Whether the result will be the same against the struggling Packers remains to be seen, but Mayfield looks like he is finally enjoying football again.
