The Chicago Bears lost 19-3 to the New England Patriots in Week 10 and that was apparently enough for the team to make a coaching change. The Bears announced on Tuesday morning that offensive coordinator Shane Waldron had been fired.

The Bears are currently on a three-game losing streak and the offense hasn't looked great with rookie quarterback Caleb Williams. On Monday afternoon, Bears head coach Matt Eberflus didn't say that there would be staff changes.

However, less than 24 hours later, the announcement was made that Waldron had been fired. Eberflus released an official statement after the news broke and said that after much consideration, it was decided a change needed to be made.

"After evaluating our entire operation, I decided that it is in the best interest of our team to move in a different direction with the leadership of our offense. This decision was well thought-out, one that was conducted deliberately and respectfully. I would like to thank Shane for his efforts and wish him the best moving forward."-Matt Eberflus said in his official statement.

Some NFL fans suggested that it was delaying the inevitable and that Eberflus would be next. Others said it was the head coach's way of possibly saving his own job, hoping the offense would improve with a coaching change.

Shane Waldron was in his first season with Chicago after spending the last three seasons with the Seattle Seahawks.

"Delaying the inevitable.. HC is gone and we all know it."-one NFL fan suggested.

"things aren’t gonna change unless Eberflus goes."-said another.
"Waldron is just getting a head start on finding his next job before the rest of the staff is fired here this winter."-Joked one fan.

Some NFL fans anticipated that after three straight losses, the Chicago Bears would make some decisions about the staff. The offensive passing game coordinator, Thomas Brown, who is in his first season with Chicago, will now take over as interim offensive coordinator.

"Ya that will fix the problem."-said another who wasn't sure this was a good decision.

Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams ignored Shane Waldron on the sidelines

Head coach Matt Eberflus said that they considered all aspects of the team before they made a decision about coaching changes. The dismissal of offensive coordinator Shane Waldron may have been foreshadowed in Week 10.

During the broadcast of the Chicago Bears' Week 10 matchup against the New England Patriots, Caleb Williams looked annoyed while sitting next to Waldron.

Waldron appeared to say something to Williams and smiled while the rookie quarterback shook his head and turned away from Waldron.

Chicago went 23 consecutive drives without scoring a touchdown and the team is now hopeful a coaching change will improve that.
