Saquon Barkley reflects on his emotions after partaking in his first NFC Championship
Barkley made his NFC Championship debut on Sunday against the Washington Commanders with an amazing performance. Following the Eagles' win, he reflected on his excitement to qualify for the Super Bowl, saying (via Pro Football Talk):
"I came to Philly to be a part of games like this. Nothing better than a game when you can advance to the Super Bowl, so I'm super excited about that."
Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni also opened up about Barkley's performance this season and praised the running back player, saying he would vote for him as MVP if given a chance.
Speaking of Barkley's game, Sirianni said (via Whyy.org):
“If Saquon gets into the second level, third level, now it’s, ‘Hey, can you tackle this guy?’ He’s hard to tackle. They don’t give me a vote for MVP, but I know who my vote would — that’s probably why they don’t give me a vote, because I would vote for Saquon.”
In the regular NFL 2024 season, Saquon Barkley had 2,005 rushing yards, just short of 101 yards to break Eric Dickerson's single-season rushing record of 2,105 yards.
