Alternate jerseys have become very popular ever since the NFL permanently allowed them in 2002. Throwbacks, additional colors, color-coordinated uniforms - teams have been very creative in that regard.
On Friday, the Cincinnati Bengals became the latest team to reveal such attire for the 2024 season. They will wear an all-orange set against the New England Patriots in the season opener. The orange pants have been a long-time request from fans, and after the Bengals revealed the jersey, they had mixed reactions.
"Cincinnati Fantas," a fan said.

Summary of 2024 NFL alternate jerseys after Bengals reveal all-orange look
Besides the all-orange jersey, the Bengals still have the all-white look they will don in Week 8 against the Philadelphia Eagles. But it will not be the only all-white uniform seen on the field this season.
The Minnesota Vikings will wear the all-new "Winter Warrior" jersey when they host the Chicago Bears in Week 16. Inspired by the "Winter Whiteouts" from the 2022 and 2023 seasons and dubbed "the coldest uniform in the league," it is the first in franchise history to have no gold.
Their divisional rivals, the Detroit Lions, will also have two alternate jerseys to go with their new retro-inspired home and away designs: an all-black jersey with a black lion and stripe in a blue helmet and their 1930s throwback jersey with the logoless helmet.
The Denver Broncos, New York Jets and Houston Texans have all-new uniform designs for the season, and they all have alternate designs in addition to the usual color home and white away jerseys.
The Broncos have an all-navy jersey (with white helmet) and their Orange Crush Throwback uniforms; the Jets have an all-black jersey and their Super Bowl III-winning uniforms. The Texans, meanwhile, have a radically different all-red design with bull horns on the shoulders and helmet and an alternate all-navy design that incorporates H-Town Blue (the primary color of the Oilers of old).
Meanwhile, the New York Giants will replace their all-white Color Rush with a "Century Red" design incorporating a winged helmet. That design will debut at their season opener against the Vikings. They will also wear their 1990s throwbacks in Week 9 against the Washington Commanders.
The Jacksonville Jaguars will bring back their original 1990s jersey, dubbed the "Prowler Throwbacks." It will be worn in Week 5 against the Indianapolis Colts.
