The Cleveland Browns have ended Kadarius Toney's tenure with the team after a viral blunder against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 14 of the 2024 NFL season. The veteran wide receiver has been cut again after joining the team in September, first as a practice squad member and then as a member of the active roster.
NFL insider Adam Schefter reported Tuesday that the Browns cut Toney after two months with the team.
The news drew a lot of attention from fans who flooded X (formerly Twitter) with comments regarding this decision. Some called him a bust and criticized his performance against the Steelers.

Kadarius Toney only played three games for the Browns, but his numbers were terrible.
Kadarius Toney cut twice in three months
Kadarius Toney was selected as the No. 20 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft by the New York Giants after the NFC East franchise completed a trade with the Chicago Bears. He was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022 for a 2023 third-rounder and a 2023 sixth-rounder.
Toney spent two seasons with the Chiefs, winning two Super Bowls but starring in controversy with the team. After a tumultuous 2023 NFL season, he was released on Aug. 2024 before finding his way to the Browns. The AFC North squad used him in three games, but his final one raised plenty of eyebrows around the league.
With 2:53 left on the clock in the fourth quarter of the Steelers duel on Sunday, Toney tried to catch a punt but dropped the ball, which led to a Steelers fumble recovery.
Before that, he got a taunting penalty after a fair catch on a punt, costing the Browns 15 yards. The Browns couldn't pull off the comeback against the Steelers and dropped to 3-10 for the season, while Pittsburgh boasts a 10-3 record, confirming their leadership during the Baltimore Ravens' bye week.
