Philadelphia Eagles' win over the Los Angeles Rams involved a bittersweet aftershock after defensive end Brandon Graham announced a season-ending tricep tear.
Former Eagles center Jason Kelce, who played with Graham between 2011-2023 was hit by the news on a deeper level.
"The biggest downer of the day, for sure, is losing [Brandon Graham]," Kelce said on New Heights podcast. "Just a tremendous player and captain going down with a tricep tear out for the year, and he said it was going to be his last season. I hope he comes back. I really do."

Graham is a cornerstone of the Philadelphia Eagles' defense. Thus, taking into consideration Graham’s contribution to the team since 2010, Jason added:

"I mean, I hope he does whatever he wants to do. He was still like, so dominant and so productive. I know him. I know BG. He's still going to be out there, leading them guys, still still being around him, still getting those guys right. I mean, this is the 15th season. He's been so good for so long in Philadelphia. Yeah, that one stinks. But outside of that."
Since the Eagles' performance on the field looks promising now, Jason further heaved a sigh of relief.
"I mean, the offense is clicking," he added. "They got a great identity right now. They know who they are. They're running the ball well."
Currently, the Eagles are standing at the top of the NFC East with nine wins and two losses.
Philadelphia Eagles head Coach pointed out Brandon Graham’s irreplaceable role
Eagles coach Nick Sirianni feels Brandon Graham, who has hinted that this could be his final year in the league, is needed in the Eagles even though the NFL DE has been sidelined for the rest of the 2024 season.
“Everybody in every workplace needs a Brandon Graham,” Sirianni said on Tuesday in a video conference as reported by Yahoo Sports. “His energy is contagious. You can’t get around him and not, if you’re having a bad day and get around him, he can turn your day positive.
The coach believes Graham’s contributions are not limited to his on-field performance.
"BG is going to be around and he’s going to be still leading," Sirianni added. "I know that man can lead when he’s on the field, when he’s off the field, no matter what. And I’m excited that we still have his leadership and everything that he feeds this football team.
That said, the logistics of Graham’s involvement in the Eagles are still being worked out.
