The New England Patriots and Bill Belichick agreed to mutually part ways following the 2022-23 season. The following offseason, Belichick only received interest from the Atlanta Falcons, but they eventually hired Raheem Morris. Belichick ended up taking this past season off from coaching but made many appearances on ESPN and other networks.
Last month, the University of North Carolina Tar Heels hired Belichick to become their new head coach for the 2025 season. He signed a five-year deal with the first three years and $30 million guaranteed.
Sportscaster Jim Gray recently had Belichick on his podcast, "Let's Go!" and asked what Belichick's thoughts were amid not getting much interest from NFL teams who are currently searching for a new coach this offseason.
"I'm not worried about what anybody else is or isn't doing," Belichick said. "I'm focused on Carolina and Tar Heels and making the 25 team there in Carolina as good as we can make it, and build the program to a high level, and, you know, compete in the ACC. I can't, I can't worry about what everybody else is or isn't doing that."

It sure sounds like Belichick isn't bothered by the lack of interest received from teams. There was a rumor that Tom Brady and the Las Vegas Raiders reached out to Belichick about considering a move back to the NFL, but the legendary coach seems committed to UNC.
Bill Belichick supports the New England Patriots hiring Mike Vrabel
After replacing Bill Belichick with former New England Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo, owner Robert Kraft and the team decided to move on from him after one season, where he led the team to a 3-14 record.
The team replaced Mayo with former Patriots linebacker and Tennessee Titans coach Mike Vrabel. Joining the "Pat McAfee Show" on Monday, Belichick spoke positively about Vrabel being named the Patriots coach.
"Certainly his entry in coaching was no surprise to any of us that knew him and coached him at New England," Belichick said. "I talked to him when he was at Ohio State, and then when he went to the Texans, and then, of course, at Tennessee. We practiced against them, stayed in pretty close contact with Mike. So, I have a ton of respect for Mike. I think he does a great job."
Vrabel has coached six NFL seasons. He was hired in 2018 to be Tennesse's coach and has gone 54-45, leading the Titans to three playoff appearances and two AFC South titles.
Do you think Mike Vrabel will do well this season as New England's coach?
