During an appearance on the “Greg Hill Show,” he gave his reason for why he didn't attend the wedding. He mentioned that he had to focus much on the upcoming Cleveland game. He did, however, state how happy he was for the Patriots owner's big moment.
Belichick said:
"Yeah, Robert and I talked about it a couple times. I was planning to go, but in the end, it just was too much at the end of the week, and we both decided the best thing for me to do was to try to get ready to beat Cleveland.
"We’ll celebrate at another time, but very happy for Robert and Dana. I heard it was a very special night, so, sorry I missed it, but I know it was a great night for him. I’m very happy for him."
Tom Brady went to Robert Kraft's wedding and the Bucs lost, while Bill Belichick skipped the wedding as the Patriots won
In hindsight, it was a good thing that Bill Belichick didn't attend Kraft's wedding. The New England Patriots dominated the Cleveland Browns, 38-15, to improve to 3-3 on the season. The win tied Belichick for the second-most wins of all time with George Hallas as he earned his 324th victory as a head coach.
Running back Rhamondre Stevenson scored two rushing touchdowns, while third-string rookie quarterback Bailey Zappe threw for over 300 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Tom Brady and the Buccaneers lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers. This was just the fourth time in his career that he lost to the Steelers, but the Bucs were heavy favorites that got upset by Pittsburgh. The loss put the Bucs back at .500 as they fell to 3-3 on the season.
One can look at the preparations for this weekend and into the results of each team's performances. While Brady missed some time in practice last week, the Bucs didn't perform their best. Meanwhile, Belichick stayed for more preparation against the Browns, which saw his team win in dominating fashion.
