Mac Jones and the New England Patriots found a new way to lose the game as they produced arguably the most idiotic sequence against the Raiders. With the score tied at 24 each, Patriots receiver Jacobi Meyers tried to do something special but ultimately ended up costing his team the game.
The Patriots lost the game 30-24 and are now 7-7 for the season. This was a golden opportunity for them to keep their season afloat, but they messed it up.
The Las Vegas Raiders enjoyed the gift handed to them by the Patriots to secure the win. After the game, head coach Bill Belichick was asked why they didn't throw a hail mary to win the game.

In response, Belichick said:
“Couldn’t throw it that far.”
Although Mac Jones has shown the ability to unleash deep throws when needed, the coaching staff of the New England Patriots didn't trust their quarterback. This ultimately ended up costing them not only the game but quite possibly their playoff aspirations as well.
The Patriots' playcalling has been dubious all season, and Mac Jones has expressed his unhappiness on many occasions. Matt Patricia and Joe Judge are still in the hot seat, and if the offense does not improve in the next few games, they may not be back next season.
The team will be the underdogs in next week's game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Mac Jones is missing Josh McDaniels
Josh McDaniels was the offensive coordinator of the New England Patriots last season, and Jones played quite well under him in his rookie season. McDaniels left the Patriots this offseason as he became the new head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders.
Jones hasn't been able to perform like he did last season, and a lot of it is due to the Patriots' new offensive coordinators. After witnessing him play last season, there was speculation that Jones might be Tom Brady's replacement, but the Patriots haven't done anything to aid their quarterback.
The team needs to get some star players on their offense if they want to build around Mac Jones, and moreover, they should move on from Matt Patricia and Joe Judge. They need offensive-minded personnel around Jones if they want to see him excel at his position.
