The Buffalo Bills could secure the No. 2 seed before their Week 17 game on Sunday. If the Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans win on Christmas Day, the Bills will be locked into the No. 2 spot. This has led many to speculate whether Buffalo might rest its starters in Week 17 or 18 to ensure everyone is 100% healthy for the playoffs.

However, Bills coach Sean McDermott says he hasn't thought about it yet, as the team is taking a day-by-day approach in hopes of securing the No. 1 seed.

"Fair question. I think we're really were in the mode of taking it one day at a time right now. May know a little bit more later in the week. And if that comes up we'll kind of dive into that then," McDermott said.

The Bills do have some key injuries, including Josh Allen played through a broken hand. He also dealt with a minor injury to his throwing arm in Week 16, but Allen says he is fine.

Along with Allen, Dalton Kincaid, Amari Cooper, Matt Milano, Rasul Douglas, Taylor Rapp and Damar Hamlin have all dealt with injuries.

So, if Buffalo is locked into the No. 2 seed in the AFC, resting starters does make a lot of sense.

The Buffalo Bills are Super Bowl favorites as the team is led by Josh Allen.

Allen is the MVP front-runner despite dealing with injuries all season long. As Buffalo prepares for the playoffs, Allen says the team is holding back play calls for the playoffs.

"As an offense, it's how much are we wanting to show," Allen saiud, via Athlon Sports. "Are we wanting to go extreme and show everything in our arsenal? There's a line that you got to toe, but at the end of the day you just want to go 1-0 each week and find a way to win against these guys."

The Bills are 12-3 and atop the AFC East standings. Buffalo will return to the field on Sunday at home against the New York Jets.
