It's common for NFL athletes and their partners to face trolling on social media. Every now and then, celebrities come out to talk about their battles with criticism. Recently, Miami Dolphins star Braxton Berrios' girlfriend Alix Earle opened up about her experience with social media trolling.

Alix Earle's statement came during Thursday's episode of her "Hot Mess" podcast. The SI model claimed to have developed a "thick skin" for social media trolls. Sharing her take on the unrealistic beauty standards among the fans on social media, Earle said:

"I do an interview or someone else posts a video of me or a clip of me and like reading for the first time, people being like, 'she's so mid or she's so this or she's so that'. I was like 'oh my God. oh my God'. And then I'm realizing like I don't need to be, like I never claimed." [25:14]

"That's what gets in your head because I'm like, 'wait was I supposed to be like Margot fu***ng Robbie. I'm literally this normal girl from New Jersey. I mean social media is like a whole another piece. It has taught me to definitely have thick skin that's for sure."

Alix Earle revealed that she loves Braxton Berrios' protective nature

Braxton Berrios and Alix Earle have been dating for more than a year and one thing that the SI model loves the most about the wide receiver is his protective nature. In last week's episode of the "Hot Mess" podcast, Earle talked about Berrios' nature and said:

"I'd say Braxton's very very protective but he's not jealous because he knows that he has me and he knows that I'm not going anywhere. I'm not turning my head for anyone. So like he might feel that sense of security with you. So he's not jealous and that's great."

"But I love a protective guy, you know. I'm like if someone comes up and touches me or does something weird like I want a guy who's going to punch him and he's going to fall flat to the floor. That like I love," Earle further added. (28:56)

Before praising Braxton Berrios' protective nature, Alix Earle expressed her support for Airbnb's initiative to help the victims of the LA wildfire.
