"Concussions don’t play by the rules, unfortunately. But there’s risk to just about anything you do in life. Heck you can get in an accident driving a car…but you can minimize some risks in football by taking out hitting so young. #concussedmovie," Favre wrote.
Concussions are a scary part of football and in sports, as Favre says. This recent tragedy comes after an Alabama high school QB lost his life after suffering a head injury.
Caden Tellier was a junior at Morgan Academy and suffered an injury during a game against Southern Academy in Selma. The quarterback was flown to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital.
Unfortunately, the high school announced Tellier had passed away due to a head injury.
"You hate to see anyone lose their life playing a sport — especially so young. Prayers up to his family," Favre wrote.
Head injuries are a major part of football, and Favre is making people more aware of the injuries about it.
Brett Favre released concussion documentary
Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre has been bringing more attention to concussions and head injuries in football.
On Tuesday, Favre released a new documentary titled 'Concussed: The American Dream', which chronicled the journey of late former player, Tyler Sash.
Sash was a former New York Giants safety who died in 2015 from a drug overdose, and after his death, he had CTE.
"[Tyler] was drafted by the Giants and within a couple of years, had a major concussion early on and just went berserk," Favre said to TMZ Sports. "[He] went back home and went berserk.
"This the thing I try to tell people -- it doesn't matter if you've had 20 major concussions or one concussion, period. The one concussion can be the one that destroys your whole life and the guy with 20 major concussions may seemingly have a pleasant life."
The documentary was released on Apple TV.
