Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre believes Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets can be a Super Bowl contender in 2024. Rodgers is set for his second season as the Jets quarterback.
Entering 2023, New York made a splash by acquiring Rodgers. However, in the first game of the season, Rodgers tore his Achilles and missed all of 2023.
With Rodgers now healthy, Favre thinks the Jets are a legit Super Bowl contender.
“If Aaron’s healthy, I expect what everyone else expects. That he leads that team to potentially a championship. Their defense is pretty darn stout. When you got a really good defense, you got a chance. When you throw Aaron in the mix, there’s probably not a better playmaker at quarterback starting in the league right now, even at his age," Favre said

"Throw the age out and look at how he moves and gets rid of the ball. And his football knowledge. He’s got the highest football IQ of anyone I’ve been around. I expect they compete for not only the division championship but the conference championship."
As Favre says, Rodgers has a high football IQ and is one of the top quarterbacks in football. If Rodgers can stay healthy, the Jets are a team to watch out for.
The Jets are tied with the Buffalo Bills at +180 odds of winning the AFC East, while New York has the ninth-best odds of winning the Super Bowl.
Aaron Rodgers is healthy heading into the 2024 season
Aaron Rodgers spent his last season recovering from a torn Achilles. He is fully healthy heading into Week 1 of this season. However, he is sitting out the final preseason game for the Jets, meaning he won't play a single down of football until Week 1.
Although Rodgers isn't playing in any preseason games, the quarterback says he feels good about where he is.
"I feel good about where I'm at with my body and what I've kind of put together," Rodgers said, via ESPN. "I feel like I've done different things throughout camp as far rollouts and pulling up, getting out of the pocket and making plays, throwing back across my body, pump-faking, actually extending plays and getting some yards. So I feel like I've done a lot."
The Jets will open its 2024 NFL season on Sept. 9 on Monday Night Football on the road against the San Francisco 49ers.
New York will have its home opener in Week 3 against the New England Patriots.
