Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre has filed a lawsuit against Shannon Sharpe, Pat McAfee, and Mississippi State Auditor Shad White, claiming that they have defamed him.
Favre has pointed out the things that Shannon Sharpe said about him on his debate show 'UNDISPUTED' when the former Packers quarterback was accused of misusing funds from the state’s welfare program. The lawsuit also mentioned the things that former Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee said about Favre on his show.
When it was revealed that Brett Favre had filed lawsuits against Shannon Sharpe and Pat McAfee, NFL fans on social media mocked the Hall of Fame quarterback. Here's how social media reacted:

Auditor Shad White responds to Brett Favre's claims
After Favre filed the lawsuit, Mississippi State Auditor Shad White released a statement and went after the former Green Bay Packers quarterback. As per CNN, here's what White said in a statement:
“Everything Auditor White has said about this case is true and is backed by years of audit work by the professionals at the Office of the State Auditor. It’s mind-boggling that Mr. Favre wants to have a trial about that question.”
The statement continued:
“Mr. Favre has called Auditor White and his team liars despite repaying some of the money our office demanded from him. He’s also claimed the auditors are liars despite clear documentary evidence showing he benefited from misspent funds."
It added:
"Instead of paying New York litigators to try this case, he’d be better off fully repaying the amount of welfare funds he owes the state.”
According to CNN, Favre returned $500,000 in May 2020 and reimbursed the remaining $600,000 in October 2021 after the state auditor issued a demand letter. The auditor's office, however, claims that Favre still owes $228,000 in interest payments. In a statement last year, Brett Favre denied knowing the money he received was welfare money.
