"We're evaluating options" - Broncos CEO Greg Penner on considering a move for the team

The Denver Broncos continue to undergo changes. Analysts and fans continue to point to the revolving door at quarterback, but massive structural changes have taken place over the last few years.

Perhaps the biggest change is on the horizon as Broncos CEO Greg Penner has admitted to a discussion taking place about moving the team, per a recording posted on X by Zac Stevens of DNVR.

Greg Penner [0:00]: "As we've talked about, we're evaluating options for a new stadium potentially, and whether that's on the current site or somewhere else, but we [are not] ready to make that decision at this point," he said.

The Denver Broncos have always been located in Denver, Colorado, going back to 1960. However, Penner's thoughts have challenged the streak.

While he didn't say emphatically that the team would move and a new stadium would be built, he did admit that discussions on that were taking place. Of course, team movements usually begin as mere discussions.

Fans have long had a sneaky suspicion that this could be the eventual fate of the team for quite some time. When previous owner Pat Bowlen was announced to have Alzheimer's during the Peyton Manning era, local beat writers and columnists speculated about how the future might look for the team.

Some had guessed that one day, the team might be moved with a new owner taking over. Now, it appears that the pie-in-the-sky idea could be on the near horizon.

Potential move latest in Denver Broncos' ongoing facelift

Russell Wilson might be the most talked about expensive change facing the team. However, the team will also be debuting new uniforms this season. The logo appears to be staying the same for now, but there are several tweaks taking place on the clothing.

Instead of reading 'Broncos' on the bumper of the helmets, it would now read '5280' in a nod to the Mile High City. There are 5,280 feet in a mile, so the number is a slightly more clever nod than listing one mile.

The team is also breaking ground on a new training facility, which is a sign for some that the team will remain in the general Denver era. However, the team was willing to cut ties with Tim Patrick and Russell Wilson in a heartbeat despite the massive investment in the quarterback. So, one could argue this isn't any guarantee of any sort.

At this point, the facelift appears to have no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
