The Broncos announced during the week that they had settled on a quarterback. Bo Nix had earned the right to be their starter once Week 1 kicks off- over Jarrett Stidham and Zach Wilson, propelled especially by his excellent display in Week 2.
With Nix officially settled as their leader, there was no point in letting him play in Week 3 of the preseason, especially as there were still plenty of roster decisions to be made and final players to take a look at. As a result, the bulk of the snaps was handled by Wilson, with Stidham throwing just four passes.
The point is, Zach Wilson played a hell of a game - yes, you read that right. He looked extremely comfortable, made good decisions with the football and had an impressive finish to the preseason. NFL fans were quick to point out that, while he's the official starter, Bo Nix better not get complacent.

"He’s back! He’s going to turn his career around with Sean Payton!", said one fan.
"He is the best QB named Wilson in the league", said another.
"Zach Wilson 1,2 or 3? They have way too many Zach Wilsons", joked a third one.
Zach Wilson's new start with the Broncos after failed Jets stint
The New York Jets and Zach Wilson went their separate ways because the franchise lost confidence in the quarterback, and he has lost confidence in himself.
It's common practice in the league for first-round quarterbacks to be granted patience for their development, with teams usually giving them three years to fulfill their potential. However, Wilson's situation is unique because the team has a championship-caliber defense, and his play had been awful since he took over New York's offense in 2021.
For the Broncos, the change from one Wilson to another would've made it an interesting story, but Nix overtook him with ease. The rookie was always going to see the field at some point, but starting in Week 1 is a grateful surprise.
For Zach Wilson, though, it's time to wait. And the wait could go on for the entire Broncos season.
