Browns fans hyped up Jameis Winston over QB's hilarious media day message: "He is a National Treasure," "Funniest man alive"

During the offseason, Jameis Winston moved teams for a second time during his career, as he switched from the New Orleans Saints to the Cleveland Browns in order to push Deshaun Watson to fix his game after not playing well since the 2020 season.

But Winston, as a personality, is undeniably one of the funniest guys in the NFL, and a recent video released by the Browns' social media team has shown that, while his career certainly hasn't panned out the expected way for a former first-round pick, at least he still can have fun being in the league.

NFL fans didn't miss the opportunity to laugh at Jameis' expense, especially as the Browns' backup quarterback certainly seems to crave these moments nowadays. While he was a controversial figure a few years ago, now that he has settled as a backup, things have been looking up for him.

A couple of fans opined that Winston might be atop the Browns' QB depth chart this season.

"My boy look like he lost weight, he ready to take that starting job" said another fan
"Winston might be the best quarterback on the roster now that Flacco is gone", another had to say

A couple of fans also dropped some heartfelt messages for the quarterback:

Please protect Jamies Winston🤩🫶," one fan said.
"Gonna miss you here in New Orleans, Jaboo. We are always going to have love for you my guy. You’ll always be a Saint. Best of luck brother", he said.

Jameis Winston: the quarterback who was not afraid to turn the ball over

When you start 16 games and throw 30 interceptions, that has to be a record - and it also says a lot about your play style. That year, Jameis Winston threw the ball, on average, 40 times a game.

He was careless with the ball, and he was going for the difficult pass no matter what. He threw for 5,109 yards that season, the highest in the league, and 33 touchdowns are nothing to scoff at. It's just that, when you turn the ball over at such a high rate, your team is going to suffer a lot.

There was one specific game that encapsulated this perfectly. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Indianapolis Colts 38-35, a game where Winston threw four touchdowns, three interceptions and 456 yards. The Buccaneers won the game with a game-winning drive, but there were also dropped interceptions.

Tampa Bay finished the season 7-9. That year, Bruce Arians said that "We can win with this one, we can definitely win with another one, too". He was fed up with his quarterback, but that wasn't a problem for 2020, because some guy named Tom Brady took over from him.
