The Buffalo Bills, like all other teams, would be keeping November 1 in mind as an important date. That date has been set as the deadline for trades in the NFL this year.

By November 1, all teams must complete their trades as after that day, they would no longer be permitted to do so.

The Bills are the top contenders this season and have a win-loss record of 5-1. They will be looking to upgrade their defensive options before the NFL trade deadline.

Let's look at the three players the Buffalo Bills could trade before the 2022 NFL trade deadline passes.

#3 Johnathan Abram, Las Vegas Raiders

One position that the Buffalo Bills need to consider is safety. As the Bills star safety Micah Hyde is out for the season, his backup Damar Hamlin has taken up the job. However, Hamlin is playing his second year in the NFL, and the Bills will be needing someone on the front with more experience.

Jordon Poyer also suffered a rib injury recently and the Bills cannot totally depend on him. The Las Vegas Raiders are ready to trade Johnathan Abram as they already have Duron Harmon and Tre'von Moehrig to take his place.

Abram has played six games for the team this season and has recorded 40 tackles and two quarterback hits.

While Abram might not be the best in the league, the Bills can use his experience to further improve their roster.

#2 Austin Hooper, Tennessee Titans

Another place where the Buffalo Bills could improve is at the tight end position. Buffalo Bills TE Dawson Knox has helped them win the game against the Chiefs, but his backup options lack experience. The two other TE's the Bills have are Quintin Morris and Tommy Sweeney.

Quinton Morris went undrafted last season and spent most of the time in the practice squad. Tommy Sweeney has been with the team since 2019 and also doesn't look promising this season.

The Buffalo Bills need an offensive weapon and bringing Austin Hooper to their side can do wonders for the team. With Hooper on their side, they have the option to experiment with their formations and passing schemes.

The Titans will be ready to trade Hopper, as he has only 11 targets and six catches for 55 yards this season. With Josh Allen as the QB, it is possible there is a chance of improvement in Hooper's performances for the remainder of the season.

#1 Odell Beckham Jr.

Well, one name that was making the rounds was Christian McCaffrey of the Carolina Panthers. He is currently the best running back currently in the league. The San Francisco 49ers recently traded Christian McCaffrey from the Panthers in return for the 2023 second-round pick, 2023 third-round pick, 2023 fourth-round pick, and a 2024 fifth-round pick.

Well now, as McCaffrey is no longer an option for the Buffalo Bills, they might approach WR Odell Beckham Jr. as he is the most reliable free agent left in the league. The Bills have two WRs, Jamison Crowder and Marquez Stevenson on the injured reserve list, while WR Jake Kumrow remains questionable.

Beckham is currently recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in the last Super Bowl game where he played for the Los Angeles Rams. While it is unclear whether OBJ has fully recovered, he still stands as the best option for the team's offense.
