The Chicago Bears will be looking for a new head coach in 2025, and there's no surprise that his biggest mission will be to develop Caleb Williams into their franchise quarterback. The No. 1 overall pick of the 2024 NFL draft had an up-and-down rookie season, and there's a margin for improvement.

There's a plethora of candidates available, and one of the hottest names is Kliff Kingsbury, who's the current offensive coordinator of the Washington Commanders and a former NFL head coach himself. Kingsbury has already worked with Williams at the college level, and when asked, the Bears quarterback did not hide his preference:

"I'd say I've been around Kliff. I know what type of guy he is. I know that he loves football. I know that he wants to win," Williams said. "He's a competitor and many different aspects that I was just speaking about. I've been around him.
"So I would say that, you know, being around him, knowing him, asking him questions and things like that, I think obviously, if he was here, I'd probably have more to say. But, you know, I think he fits a bunch of those qualities that I said," he added.

Kingsbury was the Arizona Cardinals head coach from 2019 to 2022. During those four seasons, he was instrumental in the development of quarterback Kyler Murray, led the team to a playoff berth in the 2021 season and amassed a 28-37-1 record during the period.

After leaving the Cardinals, he became the offensive coordinator at USC, working with Caleb during the 2023 season. The team finished with an 8-5 record.

Which other coaches are considered candidates for the Chicago Bears job?

One candidate who has been considered as the perfect fit for NFL analysts is Ben Johnson, the offensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions. He has done a fantastic job orchestrating the offense since 2022, taking Jared Goff and the team to an NFC Championship Game berth.

Another candidate with a strong resumè whose name has been discussed is Mike Vrabel, the former Tennessee Titans head coach. He's not an offensive genius like Johnson, but he's done a great job changing the culture in Nashville, and the Bears definitely need an organizational shock: developing Williams is the key part, but not the only one.
