Caleb Williams made his debut for the Chicago Bears today in a preseason game against the Buffalo Bills. The first overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft played just the first quarter of the game, but it was enough to leave a good impression.
He completed 4/7 passes for 95 yards, averaging 13.6 yards per attempt. Williams also made a sensational pass to tight end Cole Kmet while rolling to his right, which was the highlight of the day, and the Bears fans loved it.
Here's how they reacted to Williams' throw against the Bills on X:

"Bears finally have a generational QB," one fan said.
"Future Super Bowl MVP," another wrote.
"The arm talent is undeniable," said another fan while being in awe of the Bears QB
"Remember how y’all were freaking out about his painted nails and crying in his mom’s arms," Morgan Moriarty wrote.
Ever since his days at Oklahoma, Williams' play style has been compared to Patrick Mahomes. Although there were some concerns that his reckless plays could result in turnovers in the NFL, it seems like the Bears will allow the rookie quarterback to play as he has throughout his career so far.
Projecting Caleb Williams' rookie season stats
Caleb Williams has a great supporting cast around him, and many believe that he is set up for success. Players like Keenan Allen, D.J. Moore, Rome Odunze, Cole Kmet, and D'Andre Swift will help the former USC quarterback in putting up big numbers this upcoming season.
Erik Kramer currently holds the record for the most passing yards in a single season by a Bears quarterback with 3,838 yards. I fully expect Williams to break that record and have a season similar to what C.J. Stroud had last year with the Houston Texans.
Stroud threw for 4,108 yards, 23 touchdowns and five interceptions in 15 games during his rookie season. Williams might throw more interceptions, but given the players around him, he should be able to throw for more than 4,000 yards in his rookie season. The Bears have a pretty good roster, and their rookie quarterback is more than capable of leading them into the playoffs.
