Since the Los Angeles Rams selected Cam Akers in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, he has enjoyed a prosperous career as a running back. According to reports, Akers won't take part in the team's sixth game of the season on Sunday.
The Rams, who are currently 2-3 this season, are the reigning Super Bowl champions. They lost their opening game of the season against the Buffalo Bills by 31-10. The Rams have also lost games in the last two weeks, against the San Francisco 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys.
As we enter the sixth week of the NFL season, the Rams will play against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. This game will be important for the Rams as they will be looking to bounce back after two losses.

With their star RB Cam Akers ruled out of the game, is it possible for the Rams to win Sunday's game?
Why is Cam Akers not playing?
Rams head coach Sean McVay announced on Friday that Cam Akers won't play Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers.
"We're working through some different things right now, so hopefully you guys understand and respect that."
Akers missed Friday's practice and is out of the game against the Carolina Panthers. His future with the franchise is in doubt.
So far this season, he has started in two of five games and has rushed for 151 yards in 51 rushing attempts with one touchdown. There is a chance Akers will miss a few more games in the upcoming week.
Cam Akers' backup RB options
While Cam Akers' status in the league remains doubtful, Darrell Henderson will most probably take his place in the upcoming games. Henderson started as the lead running back in the first three games for the Rams.
So far in five games, he has rushed for 138 yards on 34 rushing attempts and one touchdown. His position as the starting RB became unclear when Akers was given a bigger role. Now, with Akers out, the Rams will have to depend on him to win against the Carolina Panthers.
Henderson's backup and the new RB2 will be Malcolm Brown. If you are a fantasy footballer and Henderson was sitting on your backup roster, then this is the right time to start the Memphis star.
