Former NFL MVP Cam Newton has called out the sports media industry's silence regarding the recent sexual harassment lawsuit filed against Fox Sports. He highlighted what he sees as a glaring double standard in coverage.

The lawsuit, filed on Friday by former Fox Sports hairstylist Noushin Faraji, names prominent figures including Skip Bayless, Joy Taylor and Fox Sports executive Charlie Dixon. The 42-page document contains serious allegations of workplace misconduct spanning from 2012 to 2024.

Newton addressed the controversy during a discussion on his show "4th&1 with Cam Newton" on Wednesday. He expressed frustration over the limited media coverage of such a significant story involving industry executives and personalities:

"We haven't heard from anybody, and it's almost been swept under the rug," Newton said. "And I say that because there have been shows and nobody's speaking on it, or speaking, very brief, and that ain't good enough."

The timing of Cam Newton's comments coincides with the news of the lawsuit from multiple sources. Despite its serious implications for the industry, the news has generated minimal discussion across major sports networks.

Cam Newton said the industry should face the same level of accountability it demands from athletes:

"This is a serious matter. This is damn near it is a part of the ME TOO movement where executives use their power in ways that corrupts the workplace environment, and we haven't heard anything from that, that's my issue. So if we're gonna hold athletes to a standard, we gotta also hold the networks and the executives to that same standard," said Newton.

Former Fox Sports personality Marcellus Wiley echoed similar sentiments on his YouTube channel. He also stated that some allegations in the lawsuit align with his personal experiences at the network:

"What Noushin wrote, at least some of it I know for a fact is real. Take it from there," Wiley noted.

Newton's criticism highlights a growing conversation about accountability in sports media. While athletes often face immediate and intense scrutiny for their actions, allegations against media personalities and executives sometimes receive notably different treatment.
