Former Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton sent a strong message to team owner David Tepper. Tepper became the owner of the Panthers in 2018, and under his leadership, the team has struggled. However, he is looking to build a new stadium for the Panthers, as the Charlotte city council approved a joint $800 million stadium project.

Following the approval, Cam Newton spoke on his show "4th and 1" and heaped praise on Tepper.

“I think David Tepper is doing a good job of bringing the enhancements. I’ve seen the renderings of the new stadium. Mo**erf**ker knows how to make money. He’s gonna do that. But running the business like you run a football team is two completely different things."

Although Newton is excited about Carolina getting a new stadium, he just wants to see his old team have success.

The Panthers are coming off a 2-15 season as Carolina had the worst record in the NFL. The last time Carolina had a winning record was in 2017 (11-5), so Cam Newton just wants to see his former team have success.

“Let’s worry about f**king winning. Everything will change. I’ve seen Carolina in 2012. Six and ten. I’ve also seen Carolina in 2015. Fifteen and one. You couldn’t sell your arm to get rid of them damn tickets. Everybody was mo**erf**king there. Mo**erf**kers like winning, man.”

Newton last played for Carolina in the 2021 season as he went 0-5 in eight games and five starts.

Cam Newton reveals the one team he'd come out of retirement for

Cam Newton hasn't played in the NFL since the 2021 season, but he isn't ruling out a return. Newton has said he got calls last year for a comeback, but it never came to fruition, and now he says the only team he could play for is the Atlanta Falcons.

“It’s not even three, it’s just really one,” Newton said, via ON3. “Me having a family now, it’s always been about family, and I don’t see myself leaving Atlanta. So if it’s not Atlanta I don’t want to do it... But yeah, it’s one of those situations where it’s like man, I’ve really turned into a YouTuber slash full-time dad."

Newton was drafted first overall in the 2011 NFL draft by the Panthers. He led Carolina to the Super Bowl in 2016 but the Panthers lost to the Denver Broncos.
