Cam Newton has over the years shared his disagreements with Skip Bayless’ analysis. Newton has also gone on to troll him but as the 72-year-old ends his stint at FS 1’s ‘Undisputed’, the former quarterback is ready to make amends.

In a surprising twist, as Skip Bayless ended his run with his show, Newton did not troll him this time. On his podcast ‘4th and 1,’ the 2015 NFL MVP instead extended an invitation to join forces. Newton also said that their potential partnership would give fans exactly what they want.

“[1:07:25] Come on down to the '4th and 1'”, said Newton. “Come on, jump on the show. Listen, this is a real invite. I come to you as a humble friend, asking you to settle our differences. I know that there's an ego the size of the world on your side. I'm a person that would just like to make good TV and good content. I think me and you can make that happen.”
“So, as they say, one man's trash is another man's treasure. I promise you, if you give me the opportunity, five shows, Skip, that's all I ask, five. I will compensate you and Ernestine the best I know how, and I will appreciate you and you talking about debates. Oh, my goodness. Skip, if you give me that opportunity to spar with you verbally, it will be something that you will enjoy just as much as the people would.”

Skip Bayless has not revealed his plans yet, however, the veteran analyst also has a YouTube channel and has expressed interest in growing it. The former Carolina Panthers QB will have to wait and see whether Bayless takes his invitation seriously.

Stephen A. Smith is on a different track than Cam Newton

While Cam Newton is ready to bury the hatchet with Skip Bayless, the analyst’s former ESPN partner is not interested. Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless hosted ‘First Take’ on ESPN from 2012 to 2016, after which Bayless departed.

Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith, together as partners, working across from each other on a debate show, is over. It's been over,” Smith said.

Bayless’ other former on-screen partner Shannon Sharpe has also not reacted favorably to joining him again. In this case, Cam Newton might be Bayless’ only shot with a known commodity in the football world.
