Cam Taylor-Britt is clearly not a fan of how his team's 2024 season ended – so much so that he is calling out Travis Kelce on some recent comments.
The Cincinnati Bengals entered the final week of the season needing these three results to make the playoffs:
- A Cincinnati win at the Pittsburgh Steelers
- A Denver Broncos loss to the Kansas City Chiefs
- A Miami Dolphins loss or tie at the New York Jets
The first event happened on Saturday, keeping the Bengals alive. But the next day, the Chiefs, who were resting their starters, allowed themselves to be shut out 38-0 at Mile High, allowing the Broncos to end their eight-year drought.

That led to accusations of ducking Joe Burrow, who is 3-2 against the defending back-to-back Super Bowl champions, which Kelce refuted on Wednesday's episode of "New Heights":
“I ain’t scared of f**king nobody. I wanted them in the playoffs."
But Taylor-Britt disagreed, writing on his Instagram Stories:
"Cap (crying emoji) shut that shi up (cry-laughing emoji)"
Should the Broncos defeat the Buffalo Bills in the wild-card round, they, as the lowest seed standing, will rematch the Chiefs, who have a bye to the divisional round.
A brief history of Cam Taylor-Britt's trash talk in the 2024 season
As it turns out, this is not Cam Taylor-Britt’s first time trash-talking his peers. Right at the beginning of the season, he dismissed Chiefs rookie wideout Xavier Worthy, insinuating that he was easy to shut down because of his light build (5’11”, 165 lbs.) and seeming lack of attributes other than speed (that he proved with a record-breaking 4.21 40-yard dash):
"He can run straight. Run jet sweeps and just run straight. He can’t do too much else, so that’s about it…. If you put (your) hands on him, you’re gonna stop his speed. So basically get your hands on him."
Some few days later, the Bengals hosted the resurgent Washington Commanders. Before the game, the cornerback insulted offensive offensive coordinator Kiff Kingsburry’s “college offense”, as he put it.
It would turn out to be a bad idea, as Jayden Daniels humiliated Taylor-Britt and the Cincinnati defense with 21 of 23 attempts completed for 254 yards and two touchdowns. The Bengals CB, who allowed one of said touchdowns from Terry McLaurin, said after the game:
"I do not regret it. But I didn't mean anything malicious by that comment. It was made bigger than what it was. Yes, I can eat my words. But definitely we did take an 'L' today, as a team."
But his outspokenness would persist into Week 18. After the Bengals defeated the Steelers to remain in the playoff hunt, he insulted wide receiver George Pickens, who was limited to a single reception that gained nothing:
"Everybody who guarded him ate today.”
Taylor-Britt finished the season with 77 tackles (58 solo); 16 pass breakups; three interceptions (one returned for a touchdown); and one sack assist, QB hit, and tackle for loss each.
