Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals were eliminated from the playoffs a few weeks ago. But playing against the Los Angeles Rams, they had the chance to change the race for the NFC West, with a win giving hope to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 18.
However, the quarterback struggled for most of the game, throwing two late interceptions that ended the game in the Rams' favor. Los Angeles also struggled throughout the match, but they were able to scrape a 13-9 win and all but lock the division.
After the game, many NFL fans criticized Murray's performance on Twitter. The Cardinals were already eliminated, but that was no reason for the quarterback to play as poorly as he did, and his critics did not waste any time:

"Kyler Murray always finds a way to shit the bed when it matters the most. Whatever, see ya next September, Seattle", said one fan.
"Kyler Murray game losing INT via headshot you can’t make this shit up", another one noted.
"Kyler is Schroedingers quarterback. He is simultaneously horrible and good and the act of observing him makes it all worse/better", a third one said.
He finished the game with 33 completed passes out of 48 attempts, 321 passing yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. Even though he made important connections to lead Arizona deep in some drives, he was unable to convert with more than a touchdown.
Kyler Murray's contract: how much is the Arizona Cardinals quarterback earning?
The five-year extension signed in 2022 gave him $230.5 million. He was the first overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, and in the 2021 season, Arizona made its first playoff appearance since 2015. The team decided to lock him up for the future instead of waiting another year to extend his contract.
It proved to be a wise decision, as the quarterback market has spiraled out of control. Many quarterbacks, such as Tua Tagovailoa, Trevor Lawrence and Dak Prescott, recently signed new contracts with their team with an average of over $50 million per year, with Prescott setting a new record with $60 million.
