The AFC Championship Game between the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs lived up to the hype as it was a close contest throughout the second half. Early in the fourth quarter, we saw one of the most pivotal plays of the game with quarterback Josh Allen attempting to run the ball up the middle.

After the play, one referee ruled it to be a first down while the other referee ruled it a turnover on downs with different placement of where the football went, as seen in the video below. The play would be reviewed and the referee said the play stood as a turnover on downs.

On the CBS broadcast, NFL Rules Analyst Gene Steratore was asked for his opinion on the ruling of the play being determined to be a turnover on downs as the referees did not believe Josh Allen reached the first down marker.

"I felt like he gained it by about a third of the football, Jim. That was just my take on the play. Tough, tough play."

This call is going to be debated and ultimately took all momentum from the Buffalo Bills as it kept them from being able to take the lead. Kansas City would hold onto the lead and win 32-29 to make their third consecutive Super Bowl appearance.
