Dallas Cowboys star CeeDee Lamb is one of the best wide receivers in the league. Today, he voiced his opinion on who he thinks are the best cornerbacks in the NFL.
Appearing on his teammate Micah Parsons' podcast, The Edge, Lamb was asked who his top-five cornerbacks in the NFL are. Lamb's list includes some of the best talent at the position, with some suprises.
Lamb said:
"Sauce, I love playing against Patrick Surtain, he's tough, both of them. They're identical because they're young, they're very energetic, they're smart and they're tall. They know how to use their length and I don't really see man-to-man outside much to be honest. You got Jalen Ramsey of course, X (Xavien Howard), I've said that plenty of times. Denzel Ward, he's a sleeper. Bro's nice, his technique is crazy."

NFL fans were divided upon learning who was on Lamb's list. Some pointed out that Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander should be on the list, while others argued that Lamb didn't pick his teammate, Trevon Diggs, ahead of some of the other guys. Some also don't think free agent cornerback Xavien Howard belongs on the list.
"No Jaire? CeeDee doesn't know ball," a fan said.
"I get why Jerry hasn't paid him, CTE is in full effect," one fan said.
"This list is trash, sauce isn't top 5, xavein def isn't top 5 and no jaire? Ceedee got locked up by Carrington valentine and jaire all playoffs," one person wrote.
"Xavien over Trevon when he's your teammate is crazy," one fan said.
Top-five lists will always have some right and some wrongs to them. While some fans complained about Lamb's list, others thought it was a good overall list. Some fans defended Lamb, saying that one of the best wide receivers in the NFL knows what he's talking about.
"CeeDee knows what he's talking about except Surtain is too high," one fan said.
"Very accurate except if Xavien Howard was top 5 he wouldn’t be unemployed. I’d throw Lattimore, Jaylon Johnson, or Jaire," one person said.
"Twitter ball players in here trying to act like one of best receivers in the league doesn't know what he's talking about," one person said.
CeeDee Lamb has reportedly received a contract extension offer from the Dallas Cowboys
CeeDee Lamb will be playing this season in the final year of his rookie deal. The Dallas Cowboys are looking to extend both Lamb and quarterback Dak Prescott's contracts before the start of the 2024 season.
According to the Cowboys reporter Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth-Star Telegram, both Lamb and Prescott have been offered extensions by the team.
Perhaps Lamb and Prescott are looking to become two of the highest-paid players at their positions. Like Lamb, Prescott will become a free agent at the conclusion of the 2024-25 season.
