Bo Nix discusses importance of defeating Chargers
Before the game, Bo Nix talked to the press about how important it's for his team to beat the Chargers:
“We’ve talked about it all year. The next game is the most important game... This next one would put us on track for where we want to go. We have a lot of work to do. The job isn’t finished, so that’s what we’re gonna do.”
He continued:
“We’ve all been on the other side of success. We understand what it’s like to be knocked down. We don’t want to be that again. So we want to continue to do what’s gotten us to this point what’s allowed us to have success.”
Coach Sean Payton, meanwhile had nothing but praise for his young passer:
“He’s played a lot of games. He knows how to win. He made some big throws for us there that we needed.”
Columnist makes comparisons between Bo Nix and Saints legend
A major question still looms for fans: when did Payton see Nix as the one to right the wrongs of the past? The Denver Post's Troy Renck told talkSPORT:
"Russell Wilson did not run an offense Sean Payton wanted to run. (He)'s at his best throwing moon balls and scribbling outside the lines. Sean Payton wants Drew Brees. He wants a quarterback that plays on time and on target, and that's what he sees in Bo Nix."
According to Tom Pelissero's latest Offensive Rookie of the Year survey, Nix got three votes from 27 executives.
