They lost 16-3 to the Seahawks in their first game of the 2024 preseason and their only points came in the second quarter. They started slowly, could not rally from a deficit after halftime, and finished with a whimper. If Justin Herbert misses the beginning of the season, or if in the worst-case scenario, he gets injured, this Los Angeles team might really struggle in a division that contains the Chiefs, Raiders, and Broncos.

Cutting Easton Stick and getting someone who is more comfortable with the system might be a good start to getting some insurance for the Chargers beyond their starting quarterback.
