Former Super Bowl champion Chase Daniel opened up about Russell Wilson after the Steelers lost their match against the Chiefs on Christmas. On the big day, the Pittsburgh Steelers struggled with their game and lost to Kansas City 29-10.
Following the loss, fans were critical of Wilson's performance in the match and even expressed their frustration on social media. However, amidst this, former American footballer Chase Daniel blamed Wilson's late-season slump on the team's defense. He also said that the Steelers shouldn't lose faith in their QB.
In his recent interview with 'The Facility,' Daniel said:
"Since Week 12, that defense is allowed 27.7 points per game. Not good. 27.7 points a game. So when you're on offense, in your quarterback, and you know your defense is not playing well, and you know their defense is not the Pittsburgh Steelers defense of older, what we're used to, sometimes you press and when you press his quarterbacks, you make bad plays. That's what I think is happening with Russell Wilson."

In their last game, against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Pittsburgh Steelers had an unfortunate day. The team's coach Mike Tomlin opened up about the team's performance following the game.
“That sucked, to be blunt,” Tomlin said. "Not the type of ball we want to play and really kind of eerily similar to our last performance in that we're not doing the fundamental things well enough.”
It was their third loss in a row, having previously struggled against Baltimore, where they lost 34-17, and prior to that, being defeated by Philadelphia 27-13.
Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback defends Russell Wilson for his fumble against Baltimore
Russell Wilson had a tough time on the ground in the Pittsburgh Steelers' game against Baltimore in Week 16.
Wilson fumbled in the red zone area, but Pittsburgh Steelers' former quarterback Ben Roethlisberger defended the QB during his appearance on the 'Footballin' podcast.
"I feel like if he would've slid and we would've went back and watched it, the fans would've been like, 'Why did he slide?'" Roethlisberger said via SI. "Why didn't he try to make a play?' You've got a guy that's, I don't care if he's 35, 36, 37, how old Russ is.
"Russ is an athlete. When you watch that endzone view, and you see him running, there's one guy coming from the center of the field. There's no reason Russ shouldn't beat that guy."
However, following last week's loss, the Pittsburgh Steelers again had a tough time and lost another game on Dec. 25 against the Chiefs.
Steelers had a remarkable start to the season with victories in the first three games before losing two. But they quickly bounced back and won five consecutive games. They lost to Cleveland in Week 12 but then won the next two contests before losing three in a row.
