Following a 6-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday Night Football, the Chicago Bears are probably in one of the worst phases. Anemic offense and a record amount of sacks are the causes for further disappointment. Naturally, the current status of the team has sparked criticism.
Among the loudest voices are former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III and wrestling icon CM Punk. Both have complaints about the team’s leadership and trajectory.
Taking to X, Griffin III labeled the Bears as “the worst-run franchise in the NFL" and how "their fans deserve better."

Similarly, ahead of the Chiefs vs. Steelers clash on Christmas Day, wrestling icon CM Punk sounded off on Bears ownership. He lambasted the McCaskey family for decades of what he described as mismanagement.
Talking about past decisions, he pointed out the hiring of Lovie Smith as head coach and drafting QB Mitch Trubisky as solutions to the Bears’ woes. He also missed opportunities like passing on Patrick Mahomes in the 2017 draft in favor of Trubisky
“Nothings gonna change until the McCaskey’s sell the team,” Punk said. “Lovie Smith’s going to change the Bears, Mitch Trubisky’s going to change the Bears, and then we trade up and lose Mahomes?”
Chicago Bears numbers tell a grim story alongside a championship drought since 1986
Rookie QB Caleb Williams, who was considered as Chicago Bears' savior when drafted first overall, has been sacked a staggering 67 times this season. That's an all-time franchise high. They are now on a 10-game losing streak.
What adds fuel to the fire is the team hasn’t tasted playoff victory since 2010 and a Super Bowl victory since 1986. Plus, their terrible 2-14 record against division rivals since 2022 shows how badly the team is struggling.
Change, however, could be on the horizon. The Bears could utilize the offseason by searching for a new head coach. Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson is reportedly set to interview for the position.
Still, other challenges loom large like an ineffective pass rush, a porous offensive line, and the looming contract decisions for key players.
Hopefully, GM Ryan Poles can bring this turnaround which the Chicago Bears craves.
