The Kansas City Chiefs' two new players on offense made a massive impact in the first half against the Baltimore Ravens during their season-opener in the GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Rookie offensive lineman Kingsley Suamataia was tasked with protecting quarterback Patrick Mahomes' blindside, and he did a terrific job. Meanwhile, first-year wide receiver Xavier Worthy made the biggest play of the half as he took a toss from the two-time MVP and ran it 20 yards for the Chiefs' first touchdown of the season.

The home team had another debutant in punter Matt Araiza, who marked his return to the league after a near-two-year absence. He did not see much action as the Chiefs punted the ball only once, which he booted into the endzone for a touchback. But fans were excited all the same for the "Punt God's" debut. Here are some of the comments on X (formerly Twitter).

Fans also noted that the Chiefs now have an intriguing kicking duo.

"Matt Araiza and Harrison Butker on the same special teams unit is just too insane, bro," @calecampbell88 wrote.
"Matt Araiza and Harrison Butker currently an interesting Special teams tandem," @Jram2TBJ claimed.
"Harrison Butker and Matt Araiza is the craziest kicking team in the NFL," @BenX6912 remarked.

Araiza's NFL career hung in the balance after the Buffalo Bills cut him due to sexual assault allegations.

Matt Araiza allegations: Chiefs punter was accused of sexual assault

The Bills picked Matt Araiza in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL draft and the rookie earned the starting job after a terrific preseason. However, the team released him after he and two other San Diego State University players were accused of sexually assaulting a minor.

Araiza pleaded his innocence from the get-go and was notified in December 2022 that neither he nor the two other players would be criminally charged. Seven months later, he filed a defamation lawsuit against the accuser; but in December 2023, both parties agreed to drop their respective lawsuits.

That paved the way for the 24-year-old to return to the league and the Chiefs moved quickly, signing him to a one-year $795,000 deal less than two weeks after winning the Super Bowl. The "Punt God" has gotten a new lease on life this season and is looking to make the most of the opportunity.
